AEP to deliver C02 to SemGreen

18 October 2007 -- American Electric Power and SemGreen L.P. signed a memorandum of understanding regarding the delivery and use of CO2 captured by a planned commercial-scale carbon capture system on AEP subsidiary Public Service Company of Oklahoma's Northeastern coal-fired power plant.

AEP and SemGreen agreed that CO2 captured at the Northeastern plant will be transported to SemGreen and used SemGreen for enhanced oil recovery.

AEP plans for the commercial-scale system to be operational at Northeastern early next decade. The system is expected to capture about 1.5 million metric tons of CO2 a year, which will be used for enhanced oil recovery.
