Horizon Wind Energy announces 400-MW deal

8 October 2007 - Horizon Wind Energy has signed a contract for 400 MW of wind turbine capacity with Suzlon Wind Energy Corp. The contract calls for delivery of 200 MW of turbine capacity in 2008 and another 200 MW of capacity in 2009.

The agreement includes the supply of 95 Suzlon S88-2.1 MW wind turbines in 2008. Another 95 Suzlon S88-2.1 MW units will be provided in 2009.

Horizon currently maintains more than 1000 MW of wind farms, most in the US, and is currently developing a portfolio of more than 9000 MW in a dozen states and expects to bring nearly 1000 MW online by the end of 2007.

Suzlon is expanding its base to 4,200 MW of capacity by January 2008.
