BrightSource Energy looking to begin construction of Luz II solar power station

BrightSource Energy Inc. has filed an application for construction with the California Energy Commission to build a 400 MW solar power field in the Mojave Desert in southern California. The application costs $10-20 million and requires the filing of a detailed plan. This is the first application to be filed in California for a solar plant since 1989.
