Siemens receives $180m South Korea plant order

20 April 2007 - Siemens has secured an order from state-owned Korea Midland Power to supply key components for a combined cycle power plant in Incheon in the vicinity of the capital Seoul.

The plant is scheduled to start commercial operation in the summer of 2009. The order volume is approximately $180m.

Siemens will build the Incheon II power plant in the immediate vicinity of Incheon I, currently South Korea's most efficient power plant. The company had completed construction of this combined cycle power plant for the same customer in 2005.

For Incheon II, Siemens will supply the Power Island comprising two SGT6-4000F gas turbines, one SST6-5000 steam turbine and three generators as well as the entire electrical and instrumentation and control equipment.
