Lukoil to build West Siberian 72 MW gas fired power plant

14 March 2007 - Russian energy group Lukoil said it will be constructing a 72 MW gas turbine power station that will supply electricity to its Vatyeganskoye oil field in West Siberia.

Lukoil has contracted Aviadvigatel, a Russian manufacturer of engines and industrial gas turbines, to build the facility, which is expected to be on stream in December. Gas produced from the nearby Kogalymneftegaz fields will be used as fuel for the power station, Lukoil said.

Lukoil added it is also considering constructing 'several hundred gas and energy complexes' that will supply electricity to its various fields.
