Huaneng Group to add 10 GW new capacity in 2007

13 March 2007 - China's largest thermal power producer Huaneng Group plans to put 10 GW of new installed generating capacity into operation in 2007.

New operational generating capacity installed by Huaneng Group reached 13.52 GW in 2006, accounting for 13.35 per cent of the nation's total.

The new capacities coming on stream in 2006 included a 1 GW ultra-supercritical coal-fired generating unit at Huaneng Yuhuan Power Plant. Another two 1 GW ultra-supercritical units will come into operation in the Yuhuan Plant within the next 30 months.
