Zolo Technologies and Siemens Power Generation to cooperate in the field of combustion optimization

2 March 2007 - Siemens Power Generation and Zolo Technologies have signed an agreement to introduce advanced combustion optimization solutions in coal-fired power plants with the aim of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increase efficiency.

"The combination of the ZoloBOSS sensor system and the world-class Siemens optimization technology allow the Zolo/Siemens team to offer unique solutions to address common coal-fired operational faults. Furthermore, these solutions will enable efficiency increases and emissions reductions," said Henrik Hofvander, CEO of Zolo Technologies.

"We believe that there is a significant business opportunity for such technology solutions in the coal-fired power generation market. Zolo's unique sensor technology and Siemens' world-class control systems and market presence will allow the Zolo/Siemens team to address customers' needs immediately," added Dr. Rainer Speh, CTO and VP Marketing & Strategy at Siemens.

The common solution consists of a ZoloBOSS sensor system combined with Siemens SPPA-P3000 process optimization modules. It will be compatible both with Siemens control systems and with control systems supplied by other vendors.
