2 March 2007 - Singapore is to build the country's biggest tri-generation power plant, which will produce electricity, steam and chilled water from a single integrated system.
An agreement on the project was signed by Schering-Plough Ltd, a wholly owned unit of global pharmaceutical company Schering-Plough Corporation, and TPGS Green Energy Pte Ltd (TPGS). When completed by mid 2008, the 9.2 MW facility will support the utility needs of Schering-Plough's biotechnology and pharmaceutical plants and is expected to help the company reduce its carbon dioxide emission by 24 per cent yearly, according to a joint statement.
