TEi to supply KCP&L's Iatan 2 plant

1 March 2007 -- Thermal Engineering International Inc. (TEi), a subsidiary of Babcock Power Inc., announced that it recently received an order to supply feedwater heaters and condensers for the new Iatan Unit 2 coal-fired power plant located Northwest of Kansas City, Missouri, US.

TEi will supply the high and low pressure feedwater heaters and a twin shell single pressure condenser to Burns & McDonnell, who is providing the detailed engineering design services along with project and construction management support for Iatan Unit 2.

The 850-MW coal-fired electricity generating plant will be jointly owned by Kansas City Power & Light Company (KCP&L), Aquila Inc., The Empire District Electric Co., Kansas Electric Power Cooperative , and Missouri Joint Municipal Electric Utility Commission. Iatan Unit 2, projected to go into service in 2010, is being developed and will be operated by KCP&L.
