Jacobs wins French 400 MW CCGT plant contract

21 February 2007 - Jacobs Engineering Group has announced that it has won a contract from Poweo Production to provide owner engineer support for a 400 MW power plant at Pont-sur-Sambre, in northern France.

Officials did not disclose the contract value.

This facility will be the first production unit operated by Poweo Group; it has been an electricity trader on the French energy market for almost four years. The new 400 MW combined cycle gas turbine plant will confirm Poweo Group positioning on the open energy market and secure their production.

This award follows Jacobs' successful completion of site identification and permitting upstream activities for this project.

In making the announcement, Jacobs Group vice president Andy Kremer stated, "We are delighted to continue our successful relationship with POWEO. We bring the mandatory technical expertise to Poweo's business art. Achieving their project objectives will contribute to the success of their strategy, and continue our boundaryless teamwork."
