Finnish power consumption hits all-time high

8 February 2007 - Plunging temperatures across the country pushed Finland's electricity consumption to a record 14 808 MW between 7am and 8am on Thursday, national grid operator Fingrid said.

The previous hourly consumption record, dating from January last year, was topped by about 30 MW. Fingrid added that although consumption was expected to remain high, new records were unlikely.
