FP&L awards ISFSI contract to Enercon

16 January 2007 -- Enercon Services, Inc. has been awarded the engineering and design of the Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) for Florida Power & Light St. Lucie, Turkey Point, and Seabrook power plants.

This work scope includes the development of the site for the ISFSI pad, apron and heavy haul path which includes the soil sampling, analysis, soil structure interaction, pad design, excavation, grading and drainage and all supporting systems.

Work also includes the security and electrical work to expand the Protected Area fence for the ISFSI facility, where necessary. A storage building for storing cask handling and moving equipment is also included.
