Areva unveils new company to oversee DOE contracts

11 January 2007 -- Areva Inc. announced the formation of Areva Federal Services LLC, a new organization responsible for the management of contracts with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).

Bill Gallo was named president of Areva Federal Services. He most recently served as senior vice president of Transnuclear Inc., an Areva NC subsidiary.

"The creation of AREVA Federal Services demonstrates our commitment to the Department of Energy and its critical missions as we invest serious resources in this enterprise," said Gallo. "Our organization reflects the structure of the DOE along the principal program areas of interest to AREVA. These include the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), Nuclear Energy and Science (NE), Environmental Management (EM) and the Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management (OCRWM)."

Areva Federal Services will be based in Bethesda, Md., and staffed by Areva employees who are currently performing work for DOE.

Gallo added, "AREVA Federal Services is specifically designed to be responsive to DOE and we look forward to helping the department achieve its goals."
