Technip bags Polish hydrogen plant deal

January 5 2007 - French manufacturers Technip has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction management contract by PKN Orlen for a hydrogen plant to be located at its crude oil refinery in Plock, Poland.

The facility, which represents an overall investment of approximately €50m, is scheduled to be operational in the first quarter of 2009. This will be the second hydrogen production facility executed by Technip for PKN Orlen.

The hydrogen plant will have a capacity of five tonnes per hour. The hydrogen will then be used in the refinery to produce diesel oil in compliance with European regulations.

Technip's operations and engineering center in Zoetermeer in the Netherlands will execute the contract, which covers the licensing, design and supply of equipment and materials. The construction management and supervision, as well as start up services and training are part of the overall package.
