Cummins Power, BluePoint Energy sign alliance agreement

4 January 2007 -- BluePoint Energy, Inc. and Cummins Power Generation, a subsidiary of Cummins Inc., have entered into a strategic alliance agreement for collaborative product development, joint marketing and selling activities in the cogeneration and distributed generation market.

Cummins Power Generation will focus on larger combined heat and power (CHP) packages, while BluePoint Energy will focus on CHP customers who need less than 1 MW of power. Both companies issued statements saying that the emerging DG and cogeneration markets are growing and they will jointly pursue "the untapped worldwide potential" for their products.

The companies plan to combine BluePoint's EnviroGen Energy Modules technology with Cummins products to be exclusively co-branded as BluePoint Energy EnviroGen Energy Modules - Powered by Cummins.

The Alliance Agreement has an initial term of five years but may be terminated prior thereto upon the occurrence or non-occurrence of certain events detailed in the Alliance Agreement.
