Westinghouse's PaR Nuclear wins South Korean contract

2 November 2006 -- Westinghouse Electric Co. subsidiary PaR Nuclear Inc. has received a contract to provide refueling equipment upgrades for the units at Ulchin 3 & 4 in South Korea. Westinghouse said the award completes a two-year proposal effort.

The contract award from Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power Co., Ltd., owners of the plants, includes modifications to the refueling machine, fuel transfer system and spent fuel machine. Engineering design will begin immediately with manufacturing to start in early 2007. The first sets of equipment will be delivered in mid-2007 with field installation scheduled to start in the early fall of 2007.
