Enel extends wind power presence in North America

19 October 2006 -- Enel SpA, through its subsidiary Enel North America, Inc., has entered into an agreement with Windkraft Nord USA (WKN USA), to buy all of the interest and rights to the 63 MW Snyder Wind Project, to be developed in Scurry County, Texas. The new wind farm will provide Texas with wind power in 2007.

Snyder will employ Vestas' technology, the V90 3.0 MW wind turbine generator. Snyder represents the first time that this turbine model will be used at a project of this size in the United States.

WKN USA will remain involved in the project as the construction manager.
