4 October 2006 -- Vestas has received an order consisting of 35 units of V90 1.8 and 2.0 MW wind turbines from the developer Neo Energía, a company part of the EDP Group (Energias de Portugal). The order comprises supply and installation of three wind power plants included in the project Actuación Janda II, located in southern Spain and includes VestasOnlineBusiness remote monitoring system and a five year service agreement. Neo Energía has previously placed orders for 11 other projects with Vestas and this is the fourth order for V90 1.8 and 2.0 MW turbines. The projects will be installed in Medina Sidonia in the Cadiz province in Andalusia in the south of Spain.
Andalusia is one of the windiest regions in Spain and with more than 400 MW installed wind power and a target of 2,200 MW installed by 2010, Andalusia is contributing to the fulfilment of the target for wind energy as set out in the renewable energy plan, PER (Plan de Energias Renovables). The delivery of the wind power plants will take place in the first half of 2008.
