Constellation extends contract with Canadian municipality

22 September 2006 -- Constellation Energy announced that its subsidiary, Constellation NewEnergy, has won a five-year extension of its competitive power supply contract with the municipality of Jasper in Alberta, Canada. The new contract also provides for approximately 20 percent of renewable energy to be included in the supply portfolio.

Constellation said the Municipality of Jasper is unique because of its location within Jasper National Park, the northernmost national park in the Canadian Rockies and, consequently, environmental stewardship plays an exceedingly large role in the municipality's mandate.
