Vogt Power to supply heat recovery units to Progress Energy

11 September 2006 -- Vogt Power International Inc., a subsidiary of Babcock Power Inc., announced today that it was successful in its bid to supply Progress Energy Florida the heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) for the Bartow re-powering project in St. Petersburg, Florida, US.

Vogt Power will design, engineer, manufacture and deliver four duct fired, three pressure level reheat, natural circulation HRSGs with selective catalytic reduction systems, to be installed behind Siemens SGT6-5000FD3 gas turbines. The contract is valued in excess of $60 million.

"The Bartow Repowering Project site has allowed Vogt to demonstrate its flexibility in designing HRSGs to site specific conditions," said Mike LeClair, President of Vogt Power International. "This unique design will allow Progress Energy to minimize the HRSG construction hours and shorten the overall project cycle."
