Mudajaya wins Jimah power plant contract

11 July 2006 - Mudajaya Group Berhad has won a RM25.86m ($7.1m) contract for the construction of a steam turbine and ancillary works for a power plant project near the Malaysian beach resort of Port Dickson in the southern state of Negeri Sembilan.

The contract is for the Jimah 700 MW X 2 units coal fired power plant and work on the project is expected to be completed by September 2007.

Mudajaya Group's wholly-owned subsidiary, Mudajaya Corporation Berhad (MJC), won the contract from Japan's Taisei Corporation. MJC is mainly involved in civil engineering, building and power plant construction.
