The project involves the refurbishment of the three power plants in the ´Dolna Arda´ hydro power cascade consisting of the hydro power plant ´Kardjali´ (four machine sets with a total output of 106 MW), the hydro power plant ´Studen Kladenez´ (four machine sets with a total output of 60 MW) and the hydro power plant ´Ivailovgrad´ (three machine sets with a total output of 103.5 MW.

In addition, ´Studen Kladenez´ will be enlarged with an additional 16 MW machine. The order value of VA Tech Hydro amounts to approximately €50m ($62.3m).
