MHI to supply RSGs to Belgian nuclear plant

18 April 2006 - Electrabel is to modernize one of its Belgian nuclear power plants after it awarded Mitsubishi Heavy Industries an order for two replacement steam generators (RSGs).

The two RSGs will be shipped to the 392.5 MW Doel-1 nuclear power plant in September 2009. The plant is located near the port city of Antwerp, approximately 50 km north of the Belgian capital, Brussels.

To date, MHI has delivered eight RSGs to Belgium. When the latest order is completed, the company's RSG's will account for more than half of all steam generators operated in the country. There are currently a total of 19 in operation at seven nuclear power plants.
