South Jersey extends contract with FPL Energy Power Marketing

17 April 2006 -- South Jersey Resources Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of South Jersey Energy Solutions, has extended its contract to supply fuel management services to FPL Energy Power Marketing, Inc.'s Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania cogeneration facility. The 750-MW facility serves the Sunoco refinery and produces electricity to sell into the marketplace.

SJRG will continue supplying up to 80,000 dekatherms per day to FPL through March 2010. According to SJRG Vice President Ken DePriest, modifications made to the contract will increase FPL's flexibility in running the Marcus Hook facility and this paved the way for the contract extension.

"SJRG has a long history of working with our customers in tailoring supply arrangements which meet their particular needs and this extension is another good example of our success in that area," explained DePriest. For comparison purposes, SJRG will provide enough gas to the Marcus Hook site annually to supply approximately 292,000 homes.

South Jersey Energy Solutions is the parent company for South Jersey Industries' non-utility businesses, South Jersey Energy, South Jersey Energy Service Plus, Marina Energy, South Jersey Resources Group and Millennium Account Services.
