Foster Wheeler plans carbon capture demonstration project

11 April 2006 - Following the successful trials of a carbon capture technique at a plant in Finland, the parties involved have announced they are planning a larger demonstration project that will be in operation within the next five years.

The Finnish company VTT and Foster Wheeler have been testing pure oxygen combustion methods at VTT's coal fired facility in Jyvaskyla.

VTT and Foster Wheeler are planning for the larger cooperation project, which is expected to see the technology tested on a scale of between 30-50 MW, to be in operation around the year 2010.
