11 April 2006 - Man Turbo AG, Oberhausen, has announced the takeover of B+V Industrietechnik GmbH (BVI), Hamburg effective retroactively from 1 January 2006.
The Hamburg facility, with approx. 250 employees and a turnover of around €60m($72.5m), will be integrated within the global operations of the Man Turbo Group. The takeover adds to Man Turbo's steam turbine product range for lower power outputs, which now covers the entire range from 1 to 120 MW.
BVI steam turbines are installed as generator drives for biomass, waste incineration and in co-generation power plants in Central and Northern Europe, whereas Man Turbo steam turbines are established globally as compressor and generator drives.
Man Turbo said that the B+V Industrietechnik unit will concentrate on its core activities.
