10 April 2006 - Indian engineering firm Larsen & Toubro Limited announced Friday that it had won an order worth Rs3680m ($82.4m) to supply three sets of gasification equipment to Datang International Power Generation Company for its coal based olefin project in Duelun county, Inner Mongolia.
Larsen & Toubro will complete despatch of equipment, based on process technology of Shell Global Solutions, by September 30, 2007 and depute its engineers and skilled workforce to Duolun to complete assembly of the despatched sections by February 15, 2008, it said.
The company's manufactured equipment will help produce 1.5 million tonnes per annum (TPA) of methanol, which will be subsequently converted into propylene and further into polypropylene, it said.
