Doosan and Harbin agree cooperation

28 March 2007 - Harbin Power Equipment Corporation, China's top power equipment manufacturer has signed a memorandum of understanding with South Korea's Doosan Heavy Industries on cooperation in the field of nuclear power plant construction.

The cooperation, which also involves the participation of China's leading power generation company China Power Investment Group, will enable Harbin Power to market nuclear power technology to the South Korean market.

Under the MOU the three parties agreed to cooperate in the entire nuclear power station construction project field covering nuclear power technology and appliances manufacturing in the coming five years.

An official of the Harbin Power Equipment Corp said the MOU only sets out intentions at this stage and that the specific form and scale of cooperation have not yet been finalized.
