Alstom wins follow up order in Nigeria

22 February 2006 - Two months after Alstom announced that it had won a contract to supply three 167 MW gas turbines to a new power plant in Nigeria, the company has received a follow-up contract to supply the project with a 215 MW steam turbine generator.

The Korean company Daewoo, which was awarded an engineering, procurement and construction contract by Shell Petroleum Development Company, is developing the Afam VI combined cycle power plant at Port Harcourt.

The steam turbine generator will be supplied to the site within the next 13 months, in time for the plant to begin commercial operation for Shell before the third quarter of 2008.
