IES seeks to improve Siberian infrastructure

30 August 2005 - Mikhail Slobodin, the CEO of Russia's Integrated Energy Systems and chairman of the management board of OJSC Russian Communal Systems (OJSC RCS) has met with officials in Siberia to discuss future cooperation.

OJSC RCS's two Siberian subsidiaries, Tomsk Communal Systems and Altai Communal Systems, operate in the cities of Tomsk and Barnaul.

Slobodin met with the cities' respective governors and mayors to discuss issues concerning the utility infrastructure. Topics included the effects of winter, utility units and the prospects of future cooperation.

The mayor of Barnaul agreed at the time to further cooperation between the two parties in developing the city infrastructure and additional heating projects. The details of any specific projects were not disclosed.
