22 July 2005 - SPL WorldGroup, the provider of mission critical software solutions has been selected by the Singaporean power company PowerSeraya Ltd to provide customer care and billing as the generator prepares for full market deregulation.
PowerSeraya currently meets 30 per cent of Singapore's electricity demand, but expects this to rise with the addition of residential accounts to its portfolio when the market is fully deregulated in three years time.
The new customer care and billing system is scheduled to replace the existing in-house system at the end of the year.
John Ng, executive director of Seraya Energy Pte Ltd, said: "Customer care and billing has become a crucial competitive element since retail competition began four years ago."
