Siemens plans more offices in China

12 November 2004 - Siemens plans to expand its operation in China with the number of regional offices being increased to 60, according to Siegfried Schmidt, vice president and a member of the management committee of Siemens China.

Siemens China Ltd opened a representative office in Guiyang, southwest Chinas Guizhou Province, earlier this month in order to increase its involvement in the market for power transmission from Chinas western area to the power-hungry eastern area.

Siemens will provide Guizhou with wide-ranging services and support in the power transmission project, said Schmidt.

Siemens mainly undertakes two high-voltage direct current (HVDC) power transmission projects from Guizhou to South China's Guangdong Province and provides a complete set of low-voltage switching equipment for a hydropower project at Suofengying and automatic products for an auxiliary system of the Qianbei Power Plant.
