Capstone books follow up orders from Japan and France

26 October 2004 - Capstone Turbine has announced that it has received new orders from distributors in Japan and France totalling two MW of micro turbine energy systems.

Takuma Company, one of three major Capstone distributors in Japan, placed an order for slightly more than one MW of micro turbines. While in Tokyo last month, for the opening of Capstone's first foreign office, it was noted that Takuma had now commissioned more than 100 Capstone micro turbines in Japan.

In France, combined heat and power (CHP) developer Soffimat, recently commissioned Capstone for France's first renewable-fuelled micro turbines at a landfill north of Paris. A follow-on order has since been placed for an additional one MW of Capstone systems, most of which is for Capstone's biogas-fuelled model.

Soffimat general manager Pierre Samaha said, "We will recreate the great success of France's first renewable energy project at other landfills."
