Nordic contract to propel Nevada

25 October 2004 - Nordic Windpower (Nordic) and Energy Nevada have this week signed an agreement to construct wind turbines for distribution in North America.

Dr Mike Robinson, CEO Nordic Windpower said, "Establishing a North American manufacturing base was a major objective for the company and the opportunities available to us in Nevada are difficult to match in other states."

The agreement will see Nordic, the Scottish based manufacturer of wind turbines, begin manufacturing activity in Carson City, Northern Nevada.

The recent action by the Governor's office and the Public Utilities Commission in creating the Renewable Energy Trust Fund reinforces Energy Nevada's view that Nevada has the potential to become one of the largest sources of renewable energy in the US.

Energy Nevada hope that through partnerships, such as the one with Nordic, Nevada will be able to compete for the major global renewable energy contracts in the US with the objective of making the region a global centre for renewable energy equipment, technology and innovation.
