Jindal Power to set up project in Raigarh

22 October 2004 - Jindal Power Ltd (JPL), said on Monday that it is setting up 1000 MW power project in Raigarh in the state of Chhattisgarh, India.

The company has finalised orders with Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) for supply, erection and commissioning of Boiler-Turbine Generator Packages (BTGP) in respect of the 1000 MW project.

JPL has paid Rs805m ($17.6m) to BHEL in advance, for supply of BTGP for the first phase 500 MW project. The advance for the second phase will be released to BHEL shortly.

The first phase 500 MW power project will be completed by October 2007.
