Alstom and Dongfang to supply Chinese nuclear plant

15 October 2004 - China's Dongfang Electric Corporation is joining forces with French engineering group Alstom in the supply of nuclear power plant equipment to China.

The material will be used in the second phase project of the Ling'ao nuclear power plant, located in southeast China.

Alstom will supply two 1-million-kw steam turbosets for conventional island, under a frame agreement signed by both sides.

Alstom supplied the complete unit for the first phase project of Ling'ao nuclear power plant.

Dongfang is a state owned power equipment manauafacturer based in Chengdu in Sichuan Province . At present, Dongfang occupies more than 30 per cent of the domestic main engine market of large thermal power stations, and up t o 40 per cent of hydropower market.
