PIC awarded third party contract

14 October 2004 - The PIC Companies O&M division has been awarded a contract to operate and maintain a 510 MW combined cycle facility in Arkansas, USA.

The peaking facility, which has been in operation since 2002, consists of six General Electric LM6000s and one General Electric frame 7EA all operating in combined cycle.

Sergio A. Picón, president of The PIC Companies said, "Through PIC's commitment to excellence and execution and proven programmes and procedures, our facilities have achieved a four year average availability of 98.14 per cent, (and) a dispatch and peak season availability of 99.23 per cent."

PIC now operates with 14 General Electric LM gas turbines including twelve LM6000s, five frame 7FA, five frame 7EA units as well as other gas turbine and thermal technologies.
