29 October 2004 - Leading microturbine energy systems manufacturer Capstone Turbine announced today the establishment of subsidiary company -- Capstone International -- and is today opening its first foreign office in Tokyo.
Speaking from Tokyo, Capstone CEO John Tucker said, "The establishment of this support office is a further commitment to our Japanese distributors and the Japanese market. Japan has the largest installed base of Capstone MicroTurbines outside of the United States. It is appropriate that we enhance our commitment to this important and growing market."
High-level representatives from Capstone distributors Meidensha-Sumitomo, Takuma and Active Power were present at the announcement ceremony in Tokyo this morning, "These three pioneering companies have worked diligently to create and maintain a strong presence in the Japan market for this economically and environmentally beneficial technology," said Tony Hynes, Capstone's Vice-President of Sales for Asia. "Our new facility here in Tokyo will optimize support, in real-time, for the sales and service activities of these innovative distributors."
A month from today, Hynes will be a featured presenter on worldwide microturbine applications at the 5th International Decentralized Energy and Combined Heat & Power Conference in Beijing.
