New wind-powered plant to be built near Karachi

23 September 2004 - A new wind-powered energy plant is being built near Karachi. PSC Industries Berhad [PSCI] announced that its indirectly owned subsidiary, Tenaga PSC, has received a Letter of Intent/Approval to build a 50 MW wind powered plant near Karachi.

The order, received from Pakistan's Alternative Energy Development Board is valued at $75m, PSCI said in a filing to Bursa Malaysia.

The project is on a build, own and operate [BOT] basis for a period of 20 years and will be completed within 18 months.
