Sensa monitor cables in Moscow Substation

6 July 2004 - Sensa's Power Circuit Monitoring System will be used to monitor the condition of cables being installed to connect to the new 110/20/10 kV substation at hkalovskaya substation in Moscow, part of the electricity infrastructure investment by AO Mosenergo.

Two Sensa systems will be continuously monitoring six 4 km, and six 3.45 km cables, supplied by Nexans Deutschland Industries of Hanover, who have supplied the fiber optic sensor integrated within the 110 kV cables.

The new substation is needed to support the power consumption growth forecast for the Moscow region. New residential development in the Northern District of Moscow will lead to a sharp increase in total power load in this area.
