4 May 2004 - Indonesian state-owned oil company PT Pertamina is looking for partners to develop geothermal power - a venture that will need around $800m.
"Pertamina will invite domestic and foreign investors to invest in geothermal power development," Pertamina executive, Sukusen Soemarinda, said at the weekend.
Soemarinda said the funds will be needed to generate geothermal power to increase the country's total capacity to 930 MW until 2010.
Currently Pertamina has geothermal power plants with a total capacity of 162 MW or equivalent. The plants are located in Kamojang, Lahendong in Java and Sibayak in North Sumatra.
