Wood group wins $12m gas turbine maintenance contract in sultanate of Oman

26 April 2004 - Wood Group Heavy Industrial Turbines Ltd has been awarded a $12m long-term contract to provide maintenance service support for the gas turbines and associated equipment owned and operated by Dhofar Power Company SAOC and Dhofar Generating Company SAOC in the Sultanate of Oman.

The packaged maintenance services contract includes the supply of spare parts, component repair and onsite services for six General Electric Frame 6B gas turbines operated at the customer's new 242 MW Salalah Power Station in southern Oman.

Yaser Tobeh, General Manager of Dhofar Power Company SAOC and Dhofar Generating Company SAOC, said: "We awarded this contract following a rigorous vendor qualification and selection process, and are confident that Wood Group will provide extremely cost-effective and high quality maintenance for our critical assets."
