Eutilia re-launches on-line Industry Marketplace

23 April 2004 - Eutilia last week re-launched its' new online Marketplace for the European utility sector. Their aim being to bring suppliers and utility buying companies together and enable them to power their businesses online.

Following deregulation in Europe, growing competition and pressure to reduce costs, utility buyers are looking to support their global sourcing efforts, with efficient and transparent sourcing enablers. This is a huge task for buyers, as it means finding, assessing and qualifying more and more new suppliers, with not only a regional, but with a truly worldwide perspective. For these sellers, it brings new opportunities to get business in Europe. Under such circumstances, it is key for suppliers to be highly visible to European utility buyers, and to be aware of new business opportunities with utilities as utility contracts come up for renewal.

Jean Philippe Massin, CEO of Eutilia says: "Eutilia was created to help both buyers and supplier to make this happen. With already more than €1.5bn ($1.78bn) throughput, 4500 sellers and 500 Utility buyers worldwide involved in projects, Eutilia is now ready to facilitate trading online, to support a buyer in dealing more efficiently with new suppliers and a seller in marketing its company and get better opportunities to be pre-selected for tenders."

Once registered, suppliers and buying utilities will be able to subscribe to a series of services to drive their business. Initial basic registration is free. This registration is a first easy step to get more power in day-to-day business. It gives access to an online utility industry community, with which users can exchange information publicly or privately.

Eutilia trading partner community offers registered companies the possibility to access a first series of services:

* A trading partner directory containing over 4500 suppliers to the utility industry and 500 utility
buyers from more than 75 countries and an ever growing number of product categories (350 to date).
* A Tender alerts service; enabling suppliers to keep track of new contract opportunities published in
the OJEU (Official Journal of the European Union) in order not to miss out on important contracts.
* A call for competition service offering buyers the possibility to create & publish OJEU notices directly
on-line in an easy and efficient way, saving time and effort for the busy procurement professional.
* An on-line Industry Forum were suppliers and buyers can discuss in an informal environment developments
and issues within their industry.

Existing services like Eutilia's sourcing services, e-Auctions and e-Tenders are also enabled from this
platform. Eutilia plans to introduce additional functionalities every quarter. As a one-stop-shop, buyers
and suppliers will be able to access Eutilia's online applications, to efficiently support their business.

"Eutilia proved to be a reliable and knowledgeable partner in support of our procurement activities. With the launch of this Industry specific directory, their knowledge andstrength as a leader in sourcing for new suppliers in regions like foreign Western Europe, Eastern Europe and Middle East will become visible and accessible to the entire Utility industry. It's a great move." says Antoine Bastin, EDF CPO deputy.
