20 April 2004 - A Japanese firm has proposed the contruction of a mini-hydroelectic project to tap Kipaliko River in Davao. The plant will generate 9 MW for Talaingod, Kapalong, Asuncion, New Corella and Laak towns.
An independent research institution has presented to Governor Rodolfo del Rosario the results of its feasibility study on the proposal.
Teruo Fukuda, who represented Hydroconsul Corporation, said the project is expected to cost P738 million ($13.3m) and generate electricity worth P177 million a year.
