Mitsubishi Heavy to set up China JV to make gas turbines

5 April 2004 - Japan's Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is to set up a joint venture in China, with a Dongfang Electrical Corp. Group subsidiary taking a majority
stake, the Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported. It said the new firm would make turbines fuelled by natural gas.

The joint firm will build a factory in Guangzhou at a cost of about Y5 billion ($48m) by spring 2005. This will be the first time Mitsubishi Heavy produce such
turbines overseas.
