Renewable energy projects handbook published by World Energy Council

1 April 2004 - A new Handbook on Renewable Energy Projects has just been published by the World Energy Council (WEC).

The Handbook is designed as a practical resource tool for government agencies, companies, investors and business partners interested in exploring how to identify, implement and successfully operate renewable energy projects.

It provides a brief overview of the leading renewable energy resources - biomass, geothermal, hydro, solar and wind - and the state-of-the-art technologies currently in use. It also identifies the challenges of establishing such projects and offers resource lists, ideas and practical solutions for solving the challenges.

Also included are descriptions of different categories of renewable energy projects suitable for developed and developing countries, an overview of the leading renewable energy resources and technologies and a summary of existing policies and drivers.
