PennWell names chief financial officer


TULSA, Jan. 26, 2004 -- PennWell Corporation, a global business-to-business publisher and organizer of conferences and exhibitions, has elected Mark C. Wilmoth as Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President.

An executive with 21 years financial management experience, Wilmoth will report to PennWell President and Chief Executive Officer Robert F. Biolchini at PennWell's corporate offices in Tulsa.

Wilmoth joins PennWell following a four-year career as Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of California-based Thales Navigation, S.A., a French-owned Company that provides Global Positioning Systems (GPS) technology for consumer, commercial and automotive markets.

Prior to joining Thales, Wilmoth served as Vice President of Finance, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer for Lowrance Electronics in Tulsa, a manufacturer of GPS and aviation instruments. Wilmoth's earlier experience included progressively responsible positions in Tulsa at Arthur Anderson, Braden Steel Corporation and RCL Companies. He is a graduate of Harding University and a Certified Public Accountant.
