Babcock & Wilcox signs a 10-year technical license for industrial boiler technology with Caldareria Costruzioni Termomecchaniche SpA of Italy

Jan. 19, 2004 -- The Babcock & Wilcox Company (B&W) has signed a 10-year technical license with Caldareria Costruzioni Termomecchaniche SpA (CCT) of Italy. Through this agreement, CCT is authorized to design, sell, service, and upgrade select B&W industrial boiler equipment throughout Europe.

B&W will provide industrial boiler technology including field-erected power boiler and shop-assembled package boiler technology, engineering, and marketing support to facilitate CCT's participation in defined territories outlined in the agreement.

CCT, headquartered in Gallarate, Italy, is a member of Gruppo Marcegaglia, which has a market presence for steam generator engineering, boilers, heat recovery steam generators, power production by biomass firing and other diversified capabilities across Europe, the Middle East, North America and South America.

The Babcock & Wilcox Company is an operating unit of McDermott International, Inc. (NYSE:MDR), a leading worldwide energy services company. B&W designs, manufactures, installs and provides products and services for steam-generating and environmental equipment for the electric utility, pulp and paper and industrial markets.
