Jan. 15, 2004 -- FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Co. (FENOC) has announced several appointments in the Operations Department at its Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station that are designed to sharpen its employees' focus on the execution of administration controls.
The changes are effective immediately, although there will be a transition period to ensure a smooth exchange of information and responsibilities.
The appointments include:
Kevin Ostrowski becomes manager of Plant Operations, reporting to Barry Allen, director of Plant Operations. He previously served as manager of Regulatory Affairs at Davis-Besse.
Ostrowski's management experience at FENOC includes working as operations manager and plant manager at Beaver Valley Nuclear Power Station. He also served as director in both Nuclear Maintenance and Nuclear Services at Perry Nuclear Power Plant. Additionally, he held a senior reactor operator license from Beaver Valley.
Ostrowski earned a bachelor of science degree in physics from Geneva College in Pennsylvania, and one in engineering from St. Francis College, also in Pennsylvania.
Dave Imlay becomes the shift superintendent of Plant Operations after serving as superintendent of Maintenance. He reports to Ostrowski.
Imlay served six years with the U. S. Navy and has more than 15 years of experience at Davis-Besse, holding various management positions in Operations, Training and Maintenance. He has a senior reactor operator license from Davis- Besse.
Michael Roder becomes supervisor of Operations Training, reporting to John Reddington, manager of Training. He previously worked as manager of Operations.
Roder holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Cincinnati, and has more than eight years of operations experience at Davis-Besse. He also holds a senior reactor operator license from Davis-Besse.
Gregory Dunn becomes manager of Regulatory Affairs, a position he previously held at FENOC's Perry Plant. In his new position, he reports to Bob Schrauder, director of Support Services.
Dunn holds a bachelor of science in chemistry from Lake Erie College in Ohio, and an associate degree in nuclear technology from Terra Community College in Ohio. He also has served as manager of Project Facilities at the Perry Plant.
William Mugge becomes manager of Work Week Management, reporting to Allen. He previously served as manager of Security.
Mugge served six years in the U.S. Navy and holds a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from The Ohio State University. He has worked in various management positions at Davis-Besse including Shift Operations and Nuclear Training and served as a loaned executive for two years with the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations. He also holds a senior reactor operator license from Davis-Besse.
Scott Wise becomes the supervisor of Work Week Management, after serving as shift supervisor in Plant Operations. He reports to Mugge.
Wise holds an associate degree in nuclear technology from Terra Community College, and has more than 25 years of experience at Davis-Besse, including various management positions in Plant Operations. He also holds a senior reactor operator license at Davis-Besse.
