Entergy Corp. names former Arthur Andersen partner Steven Wilkinson to the Board of Directors

NEW ORLEANS, Nov., 3, 2003 -- Entergy Corp. has announced the election of Steven V. Wilkinson to its board of directors.

Wilkinson, 61, previously served as director of Arthur Andersen's North American Utility practice beginning in 1993 through his retirement in 1998. He joined Arthur Andersen's audit practice in 1964 and became part of the Chicago office's Utility and Telecommunications practice where he was involved in audit and other engagements, serving primarily rate regulated public utility and telecommunications companies in the Midwest. He was named a partner with Andersen in 1974.

Wilkinson served clients in many industries, including electric and gas distribution, telecommunications, transportation, food processing, steel, beverage, apparel and chemical, and he was responsible for a number of Andersen's largest public clients.

He received a bachelor's degree in economics from Depauw University and earned a master's degree in business administration from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. Wilkinson is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

"He is a highly respected professional in the field of auditing, and his experience with public utilities will benefit the board of directors and all of Entergy's stakeholders."

Wilkinson currently serves as chairman of Cabot Microelectronics Corporation's audit committee and as a member of the compensation committee. In addition, he is a past board chairman of Central DuPage Health and Blackburn College, where he continues to serve as a board member.

Entergy owns and operates power plants with about 30,000 megawatts of electric generating capacity, and it is the second-largest nuclear generator in the United States.
